House Manager 

Functions:

The House Manager will plan, coordinate, organize, assist, document, and implement all nutritional requirements, medical treatment, and information, services and activities for residents. The manager will make certain that resident’s rights are being addressed and that he or she is adjusted to their environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be over 18.
  • Must have CPR and first aid training
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in writing and documentation.
  • Must be able to cook, clean, do laundry and other housekeeping jobs as required.
  • Must be able to attend to residents’ personal care which includes bathing, grooming, toileting, and one-on-one attention.
  • The job is physically demanding. Some residents need help getting in and out of beds, chairs, and bathtubs.
  • Having a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or similar education is preferred.
  • Having previous experience in the health care field is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

As House Manager you will:

  1. Effectively communicate with staff, responsible agency, residents, and other community partners.
  2. Oversee the day to day operation of resident care.
  3. Audit documentation and administration of medications performed by direct care staff.
  4. Assist in scheduling all doctor, dental, and other medical appointments.
  5. Schedule all outings and different activities for all residents (must be approved by administrator).
  6. Make and post work schedules for direct care staff.
  7. Make sure facility is equipped with policies and procedures booklets for direct care staff.
  8. Assist in marketing and purchasing of all program equipment.
  9. Supervise the handling of residents’ valuables and/or funds.
  10. Shall ensure that all resident medical records are kept up-to-date semi-annually.
  11. Transport residents to appropriate programs, workshops, or school.
  12. Be responsible for enrolling residents in programs, workshops, or school.
  13. Conduct evaluations with direct care staff.
  14. Assist residents in carrying out their chores, assignments, etc.
  15. Be responsible for scheduling staff in training, staff and program development.
  16. Delegate some responsibilities to Assistant Manager to ensure a smooth operation
  17. Cooperate with inspections, investigations, audits, reviews and responsible for writing plans of correction when needed.
  18. Treat all staff , residents and records with respect and confidentiality.
  19. Be responsible for hiring and firing of staff.
  20. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
